The 11th annual Corks & Chefs: Food & Wine Tasting Event was sponsored by Alagasco and was held April 26-27.  The event was held in conjunction with the Operation New Birmingham Magic City Art Connection in Linn Park in downtown Birmingham.  A crowd of 1,600 enjoyed the food and wine at the event.  Alagasco volunteers worked the event to make sure attendees were able to sample the food and drink. 

Corks & Chefs featured several members of the Birmingham Originals, a local chapter of the Council of Independent Restaurants of America.  Other local chefs also participated.

The 2008 event featured a larger venue along with an expanded restaurant roster.  A total of 18 Birmingham-area restaurants and their chefs were featured, plus attendees could sample 100 different wines from around the world.  To see a list of the chefs who participated in the 2008 event, click here.
