Alagasco distributes clean-burning, energy-efficient natural gas to approximately 455,000 customers in central and north Alabama.

The largest natural gas utility in Alabama, Alagasco is regulated by the Alabama Public Service Commission.

With roots dating back more than 150 years, Alagasco today has operating divisions in Anniston, Birmingham, Gadsden, Montgomery, Opelika, Selma, and Tuscaloosa.

Relationship to Energen
Alagasco is one of the two operating units of Energen Corporation, a diversified energy company headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. Alagasco provides Energen with the strength and stability of a natural gas utility and is the primary source of the Company's cash dividend. The driver of Energen's long-term growth is Energen Resources Corporation, the Company's non-regulated exploration and production company. Energen Resources acquires and develops domestic onshore oil and gas properties and represents more than 75 percent of Energen's consolidated earnings. Energen's presence in the upstream side of the business as well as the downstream side enhances Energen's understanding and appreciation of the entire energy value chain. Energen is listed on the New York Stock Exchange - ticker symbol: EGN - and its market capitalization is approximately $3 billion.
