Start Gas Service

Welcome! If you’re new to the Alagasco service area, please use our Start Service Form to have gas service turned on at your residence. We can connect your gas every day except weekends and holidays.

Please allow 24 hours for your request to be scheduled. A deposit may be required in order to establish service. The initial meter reading may be estimated.

If you prefer to speak to a representative, please call 1-800-292-4008. In order to serve you more quickly and accurately, please have the following information ready when you call:

• Name of the account holder
• Service address
• Contact number
• Alternate contact number
• Social security number of the account holder
• Place of employment

Things to remember to help us start your service:

• Have your electricity and water turned on before you request service.
• Provide as much advance notice as possible for your turn on request. Orders are dated for the next available business day.
• Someone must be at home to turn your service on and for a service technician to have access to your appliances for safety checks.
• All required city/county inspections must be made before your gas service can be turned on.
